It was a show of David Warner who played a brilliant inning of 107 runs scoring of 69 balls.His innings included 9 fours and 5 huge sixes.Delhi was in trouble when they lost 3 quick wickets for 38 runs.At that time Warner took the charge and with Paul Collingwood smashed Kolkatta Knight Riders bowlers all over the park.

Collingwood supported well scored 53 runs of 45 balls and anchor the innings with Warner.This was Warner 1st century in the IPL.With his 107 he helped Delhi DareDevils put a stiff total of 177 runs against Kolkatta Knight Riders.

Kolkatta lost there way from the starting they kept on loosing the wickets at the crucial juncture of the match and were never in the hunt of the total that was set by Delhi DareDevils.In reply Kolkatta could score only 137 runs from there alloted 20 overs.For his brilliant century David Warner was declared the Man of the Match and with this win the DareDevils have moved to 4th position in the league

He has proved himself in all forms of the game whether its Test Cricket,One Day cricket or T20.Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is rightly known as the GOD of the game.The man who has played over 2 decades and is going on so strong does'nt require anything more for himself.He has all forms of records in all format of the game.The liitle master has taken retirement from the International T20 but his performance in IPL3 is forcing selectors to urge the him to play the T20 World Cup.

India who were knocked out pretty early in last year World Cup need to have a class like Sachin in the team who could change gears as time required.When T20 came it was said its youngsters game but its been proven wrong by him that you need class and temperament to achieve success and you'll get it.Sachin who is around 36 years in going strong.

Team India surely requires Sachin to help them win this year T20 World Cup at West Indies but its upto Sachin to decide whether to play or not because you can't force the little master on his decisions

Kedar Jadhav: I was confident of my batting and I knew that once I get a chance, I will get going. It was just a matter of getting in and watching the ball. Have got a lot of advice from my senior players.

Dinesh Karthik: The wicket was a bit drier and it started to turn towards the end. It is a blessing in disguise to have Warner in the team. When you have fielders like Warner and de Villiers, there is nothing to worry. All credit to the boys, they played fantastically.

Anil Kumble: We would like to have won but credit to the Delhi team to have played well. We did well to restrict them below 200. We got off to a good start but lost wickets in the middle overs. The wicket was alright and I was expecting our in form batsmen to do the job for us, but it's one of those days where it did not go our way.

AB de Villiers gets the award for the Kamaal catch. That was indeed a spectacular catch, that may be the catch of the century says Robin Jackman.

Uthappa: We wanted to retain wickets till the end and then go after the bowling. There was a bit of spongy bounce so I was looking to bat till 16 overs and then go after the bowling. Anil has brought the guys together wonderfully and all the foreign players are gelling really well. I hurt myself diving in the last over of our innings, but I should be fine soon. The only room for improvement I feel is that we need to score more singles in the first 6 overs.

Robin Uthappa is the Man of the Match

Kumble: It's great to win at home in front of a full house. Robin Uthappa batted exceptionally well and the bowling unit fired in unison. We were looking to set them 150 but in the end I am proud of the way we played. No matter how much we strategize outside the field, we have to execute them well on the field and glad the guys did the job. Steyn did really well upfront and he was well supported by PK, Kallis and Vinay Kumar.

Raina: Uthappa batted well but our 2 dropped chances cost us big in the end. We haven't chased well in the last 2 games so we need to tinker around with the batting order. Dhoni will be travelling to Mumbai for the next game, let's see how he feels before the game.

Kumble: It looks a very good surface. It's great atmosphere out here and looking forward to play today. There might be a bit of dew later on. We are happy to bat first. We are going with the same team that played our previous match against Rajasthan. 160-170 will be a competitive total.

Sachin: We go with the same team and we would like to put on a big score. This is a memorable ground for me. This is where my school cricket took a big turn and changed things in my life. The start has been good for us in this tournament, we are going full strength for the first time in all 3 seasons. We have never had all our players fit till date.

Jhunjunwala is the Man of the Match for his fine knock of 45 in just 36 balls

Jhunjunwala: Wicket wasn't the easiest to bat on but I thought we stuck it out well in the middle. I try to bat around for most of the innings while the others bat around me, happy it paid of tonight.

Warne: I am relieved and pleased with the effort today after an ordinary start to the tournament. Proud of the way the guys showed character and hope this is the start of something big for us. Losing Lumb first ball tested us a bit but Ojha and Fazal gave us the platform for Voges and Jhunjunwala to explode towards the end. All the fans here have been right behind us, it's a great place to play and hoping to win a few more here. The facilities here are fantastic. The wicket was a lot slower but still a good wicket to bat on. Sid Trivedi, Munaf and Yusuf bowled really well for us.

Ganguly: Our bowling effort wasn't the best and we looked pretty ordinary in the field as well. The wicket was slow and it was gripping a bit, we didn't pace our innings well. We need to deal with the pressure well, the potential is definitely there in the side.

Vaas: Credit to our batsmen for putting up 190. Once you put up that sort of a total it makes our task a lot easier. Looking forward to play some competitive cricket and perform better in the league as it progresses.

Gilchrist: Fantastic all-round performance from the boys, it is a big win and feels good to get off the mark. Symo and Gibbs showed their wealth of experience and spent some time in the middle before going for the big hits. I am not sure where our adopted home is but looking forward to playing a couple of home matches in Cuttack and winning there, the crowd support throughout the IPL has been fantastic so far.

Dhoni: Disappointed with the loss but we realise that this is just the beginning. We could have done a lot better but the lack of exposure to T20 in recent times went against us. Gilly really batted well but we could have restricted them to around 170. We are doing well at practise, so it is important that we do the execution right.

Yusuf Pathan scored fastest 100 in IPL history scoring in 37 balls with 8 Sixes and 9 Fours.Rajasthan Royals kept on loosing wickets at regular intervals but the rock solid,power pack Pathan stood at one stand tall and smashed the Mumbai Indians bowlers all over the park.He was well accompanied by Dogra who supported well.

Pathan was run out for exact 100 due to a brilliant presence of mind by bowler.After Yousuf dismissal Dogra anchored the innings through but was out to brilliant fielding by Lasith Malinga.Brilliant last over was bowled by Malinga which helped Mumbai Indians won the match by 4 runs.

IPL season 3 start proved to be a success for Kolkatta Knight Riders as they defeated last year champions Deccan Chargers by 11 runs in the opening match at D.Y. Patil stadium at Navi Mumbai.

Knight Riders got to the worst start that they could hope for.1st ball of the IPL 3 ,Manoj Tiwary out for a duck ,in the same over Sourav Ganguly also became victim of Chaminda Vaas and every one thought the same old days are back for KKR but brilliant innings played by both Angelo Matthews and Owais Shah ensure that KKR reach a fighting total.

Deccan Chargers started there innings in great style with VVS Laxman and Adam Gilchrist raming KKR bowlers.Murali Kartik provided the first break through.Adam Gilchrist batted well for his 50 but when he fell the wickets started tumbling for Deccan Chargers and they could’nt recover.

Ganguly: We were pretty ordinary in the first 10 overs in both the halves but did well in the other half. We need to make some improvements in the field. We were lucky to get into a winning position despite dropping Gilly twice. There was something in the wicket and our bowlers exploited it towards the later half. We will try and take it as it comes and if we play well the results will take care of itself.

Gilly: We were in the box seat. It was a tremendous start with both bat and ball but we didn't finish the task well. I felt we panicked a little bit in the middle. All credit to the Knight Riders for the way they bounced back. They gave us a few chances but we failed to capitalize.

The Indian middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh is dissappointed by loosing the KIngs XI Punjab captaincy he spoke during an interview to a news chanel.

"Not being the captain is always a disappointment and it has happened in the past also. You just take it in your stride and do the best you can," said Yuvraj.

"Sangakkara is the new captain and he has led Sri Lanka for a quite a while now. He will definitely do a better job than me," he added.

A strict action is being taken by PCB to ensure that no pakistani player will play in Indian Premier League season 3 by revoking the NOC (Non Objection Certificates) issued to the players.

The decision effectively means that no Pakistani cricketer can now take part in this season's IPL even if the franchises want to rope them in as substitutes.

Ejaz Butt was in so furious that in an interview to the news channel he said Pakistan players may not participate in any of the future seasons of the IPL if Lalit Modi did not apologise.

The Mumbai Indians have beat off stiff competition to win the bidding for West Indian all rounder Kieron Pollard for $750,000.Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Rajasthan all bid the maximum price allowed of $750,000 and a silent bid was made between the four teams with Mumbai ending up the winning.Pollard first burst into the limelight during last years Twenty20 Champions League in India while playing for Trinidad and Tobago. He has since enjoyed a successful spell playing for the West End Redbacks in the KFC Big Bash in Australia.

The IPL players auction lived up to its promise of drama and suspense with Kieron Pollard, Shane Bond, Wayne Parnell and Kemar Roach grabbing big money contracts.The stars of the auction were undoubtedly Pollard and Bond who both went for bids of the maximum £750,000, In both cases this resulted in a secret tie-breaker auction.Pollard sparked a fierce bidding ware with four teams entering the tie-breaker with the Mumbai Indians beating off competition from the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.The results of the secret bidding won't be announced but all monies over the $750,000 bidding cap will go to the Indian Premier League.Bond, who's base rate was only $100,000 also sparked a lot of interest with the Kolkata Knight Riders beating off the Deccan Chargers to claim Bond in the secret tie-breaker auction.With a base price of $200,000 South African pace bowler Wayne Parnell will be happy to have been brought by the Delhi Daredevil for $610,000.
