We should boycott IPL not the World Cup:Imran


Former Pakistan fast bowler Imran Khan said on Sunday that Pakistani players should not take part in IPL because it has insulted the nation pride.
"IPL did injustice to Pakistani players -- in fact it was insulting treatment meted out to players who are world champions, and we should never send our players to the league," said Khan, a former captain turned politician.
Imran feels the boycott of IPL is must but not the World Cup.Other former players have demanded that the national hockey team boycott the upcoming World Cup in New Delhi in protest, while Pakistan's sports minister complained to his Indian counterpart.



Aussies and New Zealand players may back out of IPL3


The rumors are spreading thick and fast as the players associations in Australia and New Zealand have been warned of potential terror attacks during IPL3 season.
No information has been conveyed to the players or to there respective boards.Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket Board are trying there best to get reply from IPL commissioner Lalit Modi to know the security plans.Recently we saw the 7 match ODI series between India & England was cut down to 5 match as there was a attack in Jaipur,Both New Zealand and Australia players are now apprehensive about playing in IPL season 3.With Pakistan players already not included and if these 2 countries player opt out then the charm of the tournament surely would fall down as fans will not be able to watch there favorite players.

A strict action is being taken by PCB to ensure that no pakistani player will play in Indian Premier League season 3 by revoking the NOC (Non Objection Certificates) issued to the players.
The decision effectively means that no Pakistani cricketer can now take part in this season's IPL even if the franchises want to rope them in as substitutes.
Ejaz Butt was in so furious that in an interview to the news channel he said  Pakistan players may not participate in any of the future seasons of the IPL if Lalit Modi did not apologise.
The PCB, which has come under increasing attack for the IPL fiasco as well as the team's disappointing show in the series against Australia, said that the decision to revoke the NOCs was not taken under any government instruction.
Seeing this situation in cricket ,it could well mean that  to other sports played between India and Pakistan could get affected

Jessie Ryder ruled out of IPL 3


New Zealand All Rounder Jese Ryder will miss this year IPL due to groin injury.He is struggling to recover fully from the injury.With Ryder out of contention.Royal Challengers Bangalore now has a spot for a All Rounder in there team.The hunt has already started and it won't be any surprise if you see any Pakistani All Rounder filling in the gap

Ryder will miss the series against Bangladesh starting next week and is also likely to skip the upcoming Australia series.This would mean that New Zealand could call back for Lou VIncent or Matthew Sinclair to fill in spot of Ryder before the Bangladesh Series


Star of ICL joins Mumbai Indians for IPL3

Star of of the ICL Chennai Superstar team R. Sathish will be joining the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season III. The all-rounder said that he has signed for the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise.

An excited Sathish considers the IPL opportunity as the best thing to happen in his career. “I want to make optimum use of the chance. I believe a good performance in the tournament will transform into reality my dream to play for the country,” said the engineering graduate.

For him playing with Sachin Tendulkar,Santh Jayasuriya and other International team would be a great experience.

Satish known for his hard hitting and steady line length bowling would be a great assert to the Mumbai Indians who really want a good Batting All Rounder .

Sathish is grateful to the Mumbai Indians management for selecting him and says that he would put in his best efforts to live up to the expectations. “I am also thankful to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association for having selected me in the State team.”

New Skipper for Kings XI Punjab in IPL season 3

Kings XI Punjab will have a new skipper in the 3rd edition of IPL. Kumar Sangakkara has been appointed new captain of Kings XI Punjab for this season. In previous 2 editions , Yuvraj singh was the captain of Kings XI Punjab team.

New Venues for IPL season 3

First edition of the IPL was played at only 8 venues , where in each team played 2 matches with every other team, one each at their home ground and also at their opponents home ground. It was followed even in the second edition that happened in South Africa.In season 3, there are lot of interesting changes that have taken place with the venues.Number of new venues have been added in this edition of IPL.Various venues that will be featured in this edition are:Ahmedabad,Bengaluru,Chennai,Delhi,Dharamsala,Hyderabad,Jaipur,Kolkata,Mohali,MumbaiNavi, MumbaiVizag.The opening match , the final and the match for the 3rd place will be played at Navi Mumbai , whereas both the semi finals will be played at Bengaluru.

Knight Riders sign Bond for $750,000

The Kolkata Knight Riders beat off stuff competition to capture the New Zealand pace bowler Shane Bond for $750,000 after a silent auction.Bond, who spent two years in the international wilderness after joining the Indian Cricket League was in high demand with bidding coming from Kolkata, Deccan Delhi, and Chennai.The Daredevils were a prime location for the Bond who spent two years playing for the ICL's Delhi Giants. The Delhi based franchise were looking for a pace bowler to partner Ashish Nehra after they bought out the contract of Glenn McGrath.But it was the Knight Riders who got their man, Kolkata were in a similar position to Delhi and they see Bond as a perfect fit to replace Pakistan's Umar Gul and Shoaib Akhtar who were unable to gain the nessacrey Visa to enter India.

Mumbai Indians win bidding for Kieron Pollard

The Mumbai Indians have beat off stiff competition to win the bidding for West Indian all rounder Kieron Pollard for $750,000.Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Rajasthan all bid the maximum price allowed of $750,000 and a silent bid was made between the four teams with Mumbai ending up the winning.Pollard first burst into the limelight during last years Twenty20 Champions League in India while playing for Trinidad and Tobago. He has since enjoyed a successful spell playing for the West End Redbacks in the KFC Big Bash in Australia.

IPL auction throws up a few surprises

The IPL players auction lived up to its promise of drama and suspense with Kieron Pollard, Shane Bond, Wayne Parnell and Kemar Roach grabbing big money contracts.The stars of the auction were undoubtedly Pollard and Bond who both went for bids of the maximum £750,000, In both cases this resulted in a secret tie-breaker auction.Pollard sparked a fierce bidding ware with four teams entering the tie-breaker with the Mumbai Indians beating off competition from the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.The results of the secret bidding won't be announced but all monies over the $750,000 bidding cap will go to the Indian Premier League.Bond, who's base rate was only $100,000 also sparked a lot of interest with the Kolkata Knight Riders beating off the Deccan Chargers to claim Bond in the secret tie-breaker auction.With a base price of $200,000 South African pace bowler Wayne Parnell will be happy to have been brought by the Delhi Daredevil for $610,000. West Indian bowler will be another happy player today Kemar Roach after signing a deal with the Deccan Chargers for $720,000.The Royal Challengers Bangalore pulled off the deal of the night picking up highly rated England youngster Eoin Morgan for just $220,000.Over players sold include Damien Martyn (Rajasthan Royals), Thisara Perera (Chennai Super Kings), Justin Kemp (Chennai Super Kings), Adam Voges (Rajasthan Royals), Yusuf Abdulla (Kings XI Punjab) and Mohammed Kaif (Kings XI Punjab).After weeks of speculation over the inclusion of Pakistan cricketers in the IPL auction none of the 11 players from Pakistan were sold leaving some of the worlds best Twenty20 players without teams.With tension between Indian and Pakistan remaining high none of the 8 IPL franchises wanted to take any risks signing any of the Pakistan cricketers.
